Barbara Mumby Studios
Barbara Mumby Huerta is an interdisciplinary artist, curator, and executive leader specializing in equity-centered institutional transformation, cultural strategy, and ethical systems design. With nearly 30 years of experience across public agencies, national foundations, and cultural institutions, she is widely recognized for advancing community-centered practices that move organizations beyond performative diversity efforts toward lasting structural change.
As an Indigenous narrative shifter and multidisciplinary artist based on the West Coast, Barbara centers Indigenous knowledge, cultural continuity, and accountability in the systems that shape public life. Her work uplifts historically silenced voices while challenging extractive and exclusionary institutional frameworks through trauma-informed, culturally grounded approaches.
Through strategic leadership, consulting, and creative practice, Barbara partners with organizations to strengthen governance, equity infrastructure, and long-term impact. Her work is grounded in credibility, lived experience, and sustained outcomes—positioning her as a trusted leader in arts leadership, equity strategy, and institutional effectiveness.
